Old Louisville Tavern in Louisville

This place is a GEM!!! We (a group of 5) were in Louisville for the weekend. We stumbled upon this place by accident. SO glad we did! VERY clean, quaint place with GREAT food (large portions), nice drink menu and reasonably priced. Service was GREAT as well. HIGHLY recommend!!

The Tavern would be the best little neighborhood spot in Old Louisville even if it weren't one of the only little neighborhood spots in Old Louisville.historic townie bar with a modern update. al fresco dining and a great place to beat the COVID-19 blues

First time at Old Louisville Tavern. Awesome!!! Great atmosphere and location. Perfect day to sit outside and enjoy lunch with a friend. Ordered the Knocker Burger. Probably the best I’ve ever had in Louisville. Grilled to perfection and the bun was even delicious!! Beer battered onion rings also a hit. Variety of choices. I highly recommend this place.

Old Tavern was so good, not only did I have a delicious margarita with a friend, love was shared. Even my straw wrapper is the shape of a heart.

Great food and good service. Its hard to recommend something here because its all good. All I can say is ive never had a bad meal here. There are times it may take longer than expected to get the food but usually thats during peek hours. Good drink selection at the bar as well. Only negative I can think to mention is its only street parking and sometimes there's no close spots.

When I'm at old Louisville tavern my pants become the fanciest pants of all ! Wonderful place. Playful....yet mysterious.

I sat down with a friend to order food. The waitress made us move to another table. Then we sat there for 20 mins. I tired to get her attention but she blow us up. Throws the menus on the table and walks away. Then when I try to get her attention again. She looks at us and just ignores us. We never got any service. So much for supporting local business. myself and my friend go here once or twice a week. service has been bad. But tonight takes the cake. I will not be back if this is how customers are treated. I asked for the manager, but he was gone for the night. So I talked to the supervisor and he tells me this is not the only complaint they had tonight on this waitress. But you still do nothing to improve things.

I'm sure their food is delicious, but I wouldn't know. We put in our dinner orders and waited an extremely long time. The next time we saw our waitress, she told us that the kitchen had not seen our ticket and had closed. She said that we would not be charged. I assumed she meant the drinks we had ordered (under $7 for each of us) because why would we be charged for food we had never received much less that was never even made? Apparently, I was wrong. She came out with bills for each of us. I felt very disrespected and frustrated that we were charged for ordering drinks when under the impression food would be accompanying them. I believe that this was extremely unprofessional. Again, I'm sure they serve fantastic food. And, they have some great coacktails. I'm definitely willing to give it another shot. I hope the service will be miles better!

Awesome place for food and drinks! We went back a second time in the same day. They serve some awesome Au jus too!

The food was amazing, however the service left something to be desired. It was busy when we arrived so it was understandable. However even after the rush left and it calmed down. Service never improved.

They gave you so much food and the cost was reasonable, the taste of the food was excellent and the atmosphere was great. I would recommend this place to others.

We picked this place on a whim. I tend to enjoy local, laid back, hole-in-the-wall places more than mainstream and OLT perfectly fit that. Food was good enough that we discussed coming back for a second meal later the same day. Service was impeccable. We never wanted for anything yet the server wasn't pushing or hovering. Wonderfully approachable. The menu was cheap but extensive. 13/10 would recommend

So we decided we didn’t want to eat anything that we could get anywhere else and we asked around trying to get that authentic old school Louisville feel and no one recommended this place. So on our last day we were checking Post mates and I’ve seen the name before but didn’t think anything of it. But today we said screw it lets go, now I’m not a burger guy at all I am chicken guy to the core but when I seen the menu I didn’t immediately go looking for the chicken tenders I saw how missed it and saw the burgers and stepped completely out of my comfort zone and got the bbq bacon burger and boy it didn’t disappoint it was so good I had to strongly convince my self not to order another one. 1000% recommended go and tryz

Casual American restaurant/bar. Great place to grab a drink or quick bite with friends. Happy hour specials on wings and beer make it a great stop. Be sure to ask for a “Brown Bag”, which is a mystery beer and shot for $5. Fun surprise!

LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS PLACE! Can’t wait till I go back to Louisville again to eat there again!!!!! I ordered the fish and chips! OMG! It was awesome!!!! Server was wonderful too! WE WILL BE BACK!!!!

We stopped for a cold beer and ordered an appetizer. The pretzel and beer cheese dip hit the spot.

Onion rings are delish! Wings with the house rub are delish! House burger is delish! Great tap and bottle selection. Great home town atmosphere!

Friendly staff and a nice sports pub atmosphere. Great pub fare food and decently priced drinks. Try a Brown Bag for a random beer and shot.

Nice spot to go to near campus. Bar with good drink prices, TVs with music videos, DJ with good music. Good Vibez all around.

Fun staff, nice location, good bar food, 3 out of five for family friedliness ( but it is a TAVERN). One of my favorite weekend post tennis beverage spots.

Strawberry martini tastes EXACTLY like a strawberry cheesecake. It’s amazing. My friend got a mule and I tasted that as well, perfection! Not too much ginger, perfect balance. So impressed w this places cocktails!

Very interesting interior and nice bar. Food was very top notch and lunch time wasn't crazy busy either. I got the buffalo chicken sandwich and if was amazing! Chicken was juicy and covered not overly cooked crust. The fries were good and I'm coming back the menu had too many good sounding things to get it was hard to decide.

Great service has a good beginning and a good ending - both of which I had here! Throw in a couple of great drinks and that makes this place A MUST REVISIT! BTW, the Long island ice teas are to die for! 😀 If you are in the neighborhood, drop by. You won't be disappointed!

Wonderful buffalo chicken. Homemade ranch. Ice cold drinks. Easily the best in Louisville.

Great little neighborhood place. Fantastic burgers. Highly recommend this restaurant if you are in the old Louisville area. If you're not in the area it's well worth the drive.

The food was excellent, the service was amazing, the beer was cold, and the bourbon plentiful.

Lovely place with a welcoming atmosphere, friendly staff and awesome food. If you are a burger lover, 'The Fancy Pants Burger' is a MUST.

I had a business meeting since I was going to be in the area. Atmosphere was awesome. I will definitely come again.

Best burger in town I've had by far, and for the right price. Speed was there too, and was perfect for lunch. Server was awesome.

the frickle spears are super crunchy and yummy with the chipotle ranch. I got the stacked chicken quesadilla and WOW so flavorful & the tortillas are super crunchy like I like. will be back !

Grate and fun atmosphere. I sat at the bar and the bartender was fabulous. She was so helpful and gave us other local places to try out. Food was delish and reasonable prices.

Black and Blue burger was delicious. The Parmesan fries were phenomenal.

I live next to this restaurant. I have been here many times. Every time the service is terrible and slow. Today was the last time I will ever go back. The lady at the front was so rude and disrespectful. I’ve never seen anyone with a customer service job act the way she did. Do yourself a favor and save yourself time and money because this place is always a disappointment.

The best hidden gem in Louisville. Phenomenal made from scratch food; fun helpful bartenders and staff. You owe it to yourself to try this place out. Visiting or local; 10/10 would recommend.
